Expand All Day 1: Sapa – Silver Waterfall - Heaven Gate
At about 8h30am to 9h00am: The local guide pick you up at your hotel and driver then transferred towards the Silver Waterfall. After taking a short walk to the waterfall, we continue our drive to the Heaven Gate of Tram Ton which can be considered as the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. Enjoy the marvelous views of Fansipan from the Gate, the highest peak of Indochina. Then we start our walking trip by going downhill a dirt trail, through bamboo forest of Hoang Lien National Park.
Your lunch will be served at a nice spot nearby a river. After lunch, we continue our trek to Sin Chai village, where Community Based Tourism in Sapa takes place. Then we visit the village, inhabited by the Black Hmong people, one of the largest group ethnic minorities in Sapa area. At the end of day, transfer back to Sapa. In Hanoi we were taken to the railway station and put on the right train in the right carriage. On arrival to Lao Cai we were met and driven to Sapa .The weather wasn't great but our tour guide still managed to show us lovely places around Sapa like the Golden Stream, Love Waterfall, Silver Waterfall and Heaven's Gate. I can't imagine we would have been able to organize our tour to Sapa by ourselves if it wasn't for Hong. He had organized everything so well. The hotel was also excellent for our stay and our guide was amazing. We got so much more out of our trip to Sapa having a guide then just to simply walk around by ourselves. I would always recommend to get a guide in Sapa and Mr Hong from TrekkingSapa.com was a good choice for us. Thanks to Hong, staff of TrekkingSapa.com and Mrs Pang we had a wonderful time.

What can I say - coming from Norway we are no strangers to mountains and scenery, but it is just something about the people and the nature combined that makes the area unique and the experience so touching. The rice field terraces, the beautiful and friendly people with their traditional clothes, seeing how they live and work, being saddened by the poverty while charmed by their smiles. There are so many aspects here which are not justified by words. You have to experience it yourself. Spend as much time in the Sa Pa area as you can… Best regards, Steffi
