“I and my partner opted for the two-day trek with one night in a homestay with Trekking Sapa after reading lots of great reviews on TripAdvisor.
After arriving in Sapa we were welcomed into the Trekking Sapa office with hot tea, breakfast and a warm shower. After an hour or so, our guide met us at the office to begin our trek. We first walked to the market and picked out fresh produce for lunch. Our guide was very careful to select the food we both liked.
After a short taxi ride from the market, we then started our trek which was simply stunning. As a couple, we have never really hiked before, and although the walk was difficult at times, it was perfectly manageable. We were also fortunate to have rented suitable walking shoes from the office.”

Trekking in Sapa
You know, there’s no second place in Vietnam that you can find such amazingly beautiful and unique landscapes like Sapa. This destination is absolutely a perfect place for trekking lovers, who like to enjoy a slow, meaningful and full of surprise life.
Surrounded by breathtaking vistas, rolling peaks and stunning greenery, who can imagine that this primitive place can keep its natural beauty, even it used to be one of the most favorite destinations of French while they were taking control of Vietnam (besides Halong Bay and Hanoi).
And since then Sapa’s beautiful landscapes have become a number-1 choice for holiday-makers, particularly with Europeans looking for an escape from hustle life by taking a trekking tour.
Sapa Market
Sapa is famous for its “Love Market” – sort of a cross between a Middle Eastern arms bazaar, an Amish square dance, a bad Pavarotti concert and Bangkok’s Patpong (except where the people wear clothes). On Saturday nights, Red Dzao hill tribe youths of both sexes congregate in a weekly courting rite, singing tribal versions of love songs to woo the opposite sex. The songs are highly personalized and boast of the composer’s physical attributes, domestic abilities, and strong work ethic. While Dzao women are indeed highly industrious, the men, it seems, prefer to spend most of their time drinking, smoking opium or sleeping, only occasionally slapping the rump of a lethargic bovine moving more slowly than they are. Few of their songs, though, are about drinking, smoking opium, sleeping or slapping rumps.
